Frequently asked

TikTok cover preview FAQ

What size is a TikTok cover?

Vertical 9:16, ideally 1080×1920. Your profile grid crops it near-square, so keep the subject and text centered, away from the edges.

Why is part of my TikTok cover cut off?

TikTok crops covers differently in the For You feed, your profile grid, and search. The preview shows each so nothing important gets clipped.

Where do the caption and UI overlap the cover?

The right-side action rail and the bottom caption sit on top of your cover. The preview mocks that UI so your text isn't buried under it.

Can I set a TikTok cover from a specific frame?

In the app you pick a frame or upload a cover on the post screen. Check it here first to be sure it reads.

Is my image uploaded anywhere?

No. It all renders in your browser, so your cover never leaves your device.
